Last summer, I parted ways with my antibacterial Dial body soap and started the search for a more natural and gentle alternative. After some trial and error, I am still on the hunt but warmer than before I began. Two of my new buys for 2010 are Pure & Natural Body Wash with vanilla seeds and mango butter and Burt's Bees Milk & Shea Butter Body Bar. A full review of these purchases will be coming in the near future ...
In the mean time, here is some food for thought:
* Antibacterial soaps have been said to perform no better than regular soaps
* Antibacterial soaps may contribute to the rise of resistant bacteria
* Triclocarban, which is found in many antibacterial soaps, may cause reduced fertility in women and men and increase breast and prostate cancers
Now, I'll close by stating that the latter two bullet points are debatable, so definitely DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH before tossing out your antibacterial products.
**Both products were purchased at Walmart.
